The Institute of Prison Law's Certificate of Competency in Prison Law has been developed by specialists in the field of Prison Law. The 2005 course runs in Manchester from January to June and September to December 2005; the course will also operate from London from April-June 2005 and September-March (2006).

The ten month Course consists of one full day seminar each month, with monthly internal multiple-choice examinations. There is also an externally invigilated and marked examination at the end of the course.
